 About Nest:

The National Entrance Screening Test or NEST is a compulsory test for admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc programme in basic sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics - at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. 

Both NISER and CBS are autonomous institutions established by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, in 2007. 

NEST 2014 Exam will be conducted across 45 centers in India. 

  

Eligibility Criteria to apply for this Test: 

Candidates should be from Science Stream (Biology/Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics) at Class XII (with 60% marks in aggregate). For Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physical disabilities (PD) categories, the minimum requirement of marks required is 55% in aggregate.

Candidates appearing for the class XII in the year 2014 also eligible to apply.

Age:

For General and OBC :  Should be born on or after July 22,1994
For SC/ST/Physically Disabled(PD):  Relaxation with respect to age limit by 5 years.

Application Fees:

For General and OBC Category candidates the Fees is Rs.700/- and for SC/ST/Physically Disabled(PD) the Fees is Rs. 350/-

Application Process:

Candidates can apply either by online or offline.

1. For online Mode: To apply online, login to the website: http://www.nestexam.in/ and upload all your details as prescribed and save those for future reference.

2. For offline Mode: Candidates are advised to send the request letter to the chief coordinator of NEST 2014 for a paper copy of application form. Then fill the appropriate details regarding your Name, Age, Qualification,etc, affix your photograph and put your signature. Enclose your payment details.
